How Bedspace Swaps Work
1. Check available bedspaces
Before you submit a request, look in the housing application to see which bedspaces are currently open. Select your agreement period to view open bedspaces. This can help you find an empty bedspace to move into.
2. Submit your request
Fill out the swap request form below. Submitting it adds you to our swap request list for the agreement period you choose.
- Swapping with a specific person? Both of you need to submit a form.
- Want to move but don't have someone to swap with? Submit the form with your preferences. We'll look for another resident who wants your current bedspace.
- Moving into an empty bedspace? Only you need to submit a form.
Note: We can't approve moves into ADA-designated bedspaces or spaces that are otherwise unavailable.
3. Allow time for review
Please allow up to 2 business days for us to review your request. We may need to find a match and get approval from your Housing Advisor(s), so some requests can take longer. We'll reach out once we have an update. You don't need to submit another request.
4. We get approval from your Housing Advisor(s)
We'll contact the Housing Advisor (HA) for your current building and the HA for your new building. If you're staying in the same building, only one approval is needed. We'll also ask what time you'd like to move so we can coordinate with your HA(s).
5. Accept your bedspace hold within 24 hours
Once the swap is approved, we'll place a hold on your new bedspace and call you to let you know. You have 24 hours to sign in and accept it. If two people are swapping, both must accept, or the swap won't go through.
6. Check out, then move
Before you leave your current bedspace, check out with your current HA. Please don't move any belongings until your swap is confirmed and you've checked out.
Please wait for approval before moving. If you move into a different bedspace without an approved swap, you may be charged fines under your housing agreement, and you may be required to move back.
